This week the Library of Congress introduced the addition of greater than 4,000 new major supply paperwork to the By the Folks web site. These major sources are all letters, notes, and manuscripts written by Walt Whitman.
The aim of the By the Folks mission is to enlist the assistance of the general public to transcribe 1000’s of major supply paperwork which can be housed by and have been scanned by the Library of Congress. Over time there have been collections of paperwork from the American Civil Warfare, papers from the American Revolution, presidential papers, paperwork about suffrage, and paperwork in regards to the integration of Main League Baseball.
